If it wasn’t for what y’all have over there, not as many people would come down to the RGV. If it wasn’t for what Cameron County has, not as many people would come down to the RGV. With our assets combined it’s a whole other ball game - we’re probably close to generating $1 billion In ecotourism spending $$$. We (counties) benefit each other.

I'm not going to lie, that Quinta Mazatlan expansion is impressive, and they desperately needed it. McAllen did what they had to do.

Y’all got the same wildlife we have (to some degree) minus the ocelot….. and those national wildlife refuges in the upper valley sure love to plaster the ocelot all over their marketing, even though there has NEVER been a confirmed sighting anywhere on any of those refuges. The “free-range” nilgai have already migrated to northern Hidalgo county, but they’re not on a protected 120,000-acre tract like LANWR, that’s why there are so many of them over in Cameron county, they’ve also made it to Boca Chica beach, and the Sabal Palm sanctuary. But it truly is a whole other world out there. A buck roaming the sand dunes of SPI. Attachments:
