Finally. Texas A&M is entering Cameron county with a $30 million dollar facility at the Port of Brownsville. Hopefully they will expand their campus in the future with more buildings.

Is this official ?? Was talked about about a yrs back.. with the port and SpaceX here... there will be the need for advanced manufacturing training facility.. TSC wanted A&M partnership in ITEC building to do manufacturing courses since they have the Chevron streamline process in place.. intro courses to engineering degrees... hopefully A&M now sees the potential and need to bring that job market training at a higher level... this is huge for CC....

Hope is does come to fruition since LNGs, and SpaceX hve already established... was talked about it like i said ... was speculation on the fact that there was interest in bringing LNG, n SpaceX, but now that hve committed in BRO .. now they can secure the facility being built here..Hip, hip, hooray!!

This should lead to more big projects coming to Cameron County, especially manufacturing companies that require a global export facility. Now we’ll have a dedicated space to provide training to the local workforce for any company going through their site-selection process.

I wouldn't be surprised, once A&Ms advanced manufacturing starts here cuz I believe BRO was talking about hving a manufacturing foundery and bring in a car manufacturer... but what the hell , rockets are built here...🤷♂️ the port has already has all the raw materials and components it ships n rails to Monterrey ( high automobile industry area)... why not have it here in our own country. Mexico has become a auto maker mecca because of it cheap labor...as did china. N Tesla is opening as well.🤔

Mexico 🇲🇽 is no longer considered a “developing nation”. All the Western companies that opened up shop in the northern parts of Mexico since NAFTA was implemented not only raised the standard of living and quality of life in Mexico - especially Nuevo León and Tamaulipas - it forever changed the Rio Grande Valley AND Laredo. And now this “near-shoring” race is on between Hidalgo County/Reynosa and Cameron County/Matamoros. Brownsville has 3 Industrial parks in the works totaling over 1,000 acres with millions of square feet of warehousing space, and a company from Harlingen is proposing to build 300,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space at the Port of Brownsville as well.

On paper, Brownsville will already have a 1 million square foot advanced-manufacturing facility (Starbase) filled with thousands of highly-skilled employees.

Correct. ... the updated version of USMCA propelled MEXICO from poverty...that is why all those investments flights into U.S. from Mx.. Mx is the center of trade and no longer China... Even China is investing in MEXICO to avoid higher tariffs from U.S. to bring in their products...we will probably see more Made in MEXICO goods ..
