Not sure how much more I can add to the subject. A lot of people will probably travel to see the test launch, but the first time will probably be the peak. After that it'll die out pretty quick till the actual rocket launches. Which probably won't be for a good while.

But Miles was saying that the SpaceX topic is very active over on the other forum and he was wondering why it's not in this forum. I think he's right as are you. Hidalgo County doesn't much care about it. At least for now. Even the new rocket they're building that looks all 50s sci-fi looks fake to me. Like it's being built to be placed by the entrance to the land. Like an entrance marker. lol

Thanks ! Those are great links to follow! Maybe it's because it's been talked about so much for so many years without nothing happening (until now), that people blocked it out? It's been moving quite a bit lately and it will be exciting to see that first launch but I won't drive over there to see it. I'll see it on TV or on computer or phone. What's interesting to me now is how the Department of Homeland Security NOW wants to put a border wall at the site! GRR. Hope that doesn't mess with Elon's plans for the area.

SpaceX announces it will develop Mars rocket at Boca Chica
SpaceX today announced that it will move development of its Mars spaceship and rocket booster system from the Port of Los Angeles to the company’s Boca Chica Beach launch complex near Brownsville.
It reverses SpaceX’s decision last year to develop its Starship (formerly Big Falcon Spaceship) and Super Heavy (formerly Big Falcon Rocket) in California. The move is part of a major effort by the company to streamline operations, with SpaceX announcing on Jan. 11 that it will lay off roughly 10 percent of its workforce of more than 6,000 employees.
The company recently completed work on the Starship Hopper prototype, which could begin vertical takeoff and landing tests at Boca Chica as early as next month.

Housing is going to sky-rocket in Brownsville. Gentrification -here we come!

Well, looks like the LA article was incorrect: linkPer Musk "The source info is incorrect. Starship & Raptor development is being done out of our HQ in Hawthorne, CA. We are building the Starship prototypes locally at our launch site in Texas, as their size makes them very difficult to transport." So, only the prototypes to be built at BC.
