Obviously you didn’t read the article Miles, nowhere does it say that Brownsville will have a better QoL than Dubai, it’s about the export capacity that Brownsville will have very soon and the potential the Burgos basin in Mexico will have on the port. The port of Brownsville will rival what Dubai has in terms of export capacity.

Something your county officials can't compete with... 😩 FYI, many other towns in the RGV were founded way before Brownsville - Granjeno, Roma in the 1700s! Cities that take their age and use it to their advantage impress me - San Antonio, New Orleans, Galveston - nice. Brownsville is just another RGV city - they all blend together.

Brownsville is the MOST historic city in the RGV and the oldest of the major cities at 171 years old, and it doesn't even come close. Yes, Granjeno is older but where is their Historic downtown district? Where are their historic buildings? Where are their Mexican/Amercian and Civil war battle sites? Where are their restaurants, bars, museums, boutique retail, coffee shops? Where is their National park named after a a major battle site between the U.S. and Mexico? There are none. Browsnville is NOT just another RGV city (that's what I've been tryin to explain to y'all) we just haven't capitalized on our history yet, but eventually we will. Roma has some potential but they are out in the middle of nowhere, away from major population centers, and far away from the major tourist attractions in the RGV (SPI/SpaceX). If ANY city in the RGV has the potential to capitalize on history it's the city of Brownsville. There's a reason the Musk foundation told the city of Brownsville one of their biggest assets is the untapped potential that historic downtown Brownsville has.
