When people are this corrupt and power hungry they will never get over themselves. Ain't that the truth. GRR And now how about that courthouse? What is happening to Edinburg? If they aren't careful, Edinburg's economy can easily go back into hibernation if they continue down this path...

If they aren't careful, Edinburg's economy can easily go back into hibernation if they continue down this path... We've had that discussion before BTX. It's stupid crazy what's going on in Edinburg. The new administration is the RGV's Trump. It's really sad how bad they're running things. Just this week, they gave their EDC director a raise after only 3 months on the job! Nothing's come into the city in those 90 days. What has he done? Nada. I think the EDC guy came from Harlingen? Puro compadrismo.

I knew this sounded familiar. There is already one of these in Mcallen. It's right next to the ancient heb on south 10th or the now torn down convention center. I've never seen asian people in pharr though.

Is there really a market for a uh, market like this in the RGV? wow. I knew this sounded familiar. There is already one of these in Mcallen. It's right next to the ancient heb on south 10th or the now torn down convention center. I've never seen asian people in pharr though. 1. The ancient HEB on south 10th moved to 2nd & Expressway a couple of years ago. 2. I didn't know there was one in McAllen called the same thing. I know of one on north 10th next to Xin Xin off Martin. 3. What a waste of convention center. As old as it was, it was still being used every month. They never did anything with the land. 4. The only Asian people I see in Pharr are at Pappa Lee's Chinese (by HEB on Ridge/281). Best chinese I've had in ages. Highly recommend it! FYI, did you know that Pharr had the first chinese restaurant in Hidalgo County at one point? Chung Mei at the Texan Hotel on Cage. Their neon letters and name are still there. Now I wonder if Mr. Lee is related to the Mr. Lee from Pappa Lee? Here's a story on Chinese food in the RGV via Mr. Lee's obituary. www.legacy.com/obituaries/themonitor/obituary.aspx?n=du-ong-lee&pid=142299659

It definitely is more of a niche market, but I know friends from Weslaco and Edinburg that go to one of the other Asian markets in McAllen semi-often and have dropped a good amount of money at it. I've been wanting to go recently just because I want some Pepero sticks!
