It looks like Brownsville (Candlewood/Holiday Inn) and Mission (Candlewood/Avid) will be getting dual-branded hotels. The Hawthorne Suites in Brownsville (3-floor wing) will be added to the La Quinta Inn in North Brownsville giving Brownsville two dual-branded hotels. Brownsville's 2nd Hampton Inn will be located at the proposed Oklahoma Station retail Center in North Brownsville. The dual-branded Candlewood/Holiday Inn X hotels will be located at a commercial development off of Pablo Kisel/Morrison that will have Cameron County's 2nd Walk Ons Bistreaux, Starbucks, a potential Famous Dave's BBQ, and a 20k sq. ft. retail center. .

That's alot of hotels. Why? Hate to say it but also migrants. I heard (unofficially) that during the Games of Texas in July, few rooms were available to the gamers and families due to nearly booked hotels in Brownsville by migrants. Not sure how much of it is true or accurate, then of course LNG and SpaceX.

Also, that most stayed in Harlingen hotels and most of the business went there. If that's true, that was a huge fiasco for Brownsville since the city is the one that spend godly amount of money to advertise and the time and effort to bring the games here. After the games mums the word from Brownsville about the success of the games.
