I do remember those discussions of equal campuses but can no longer find the articles online. But that's all water under the bridge. Hopefully with SpaceX and LNGs will help bring more infrastructure, programs and staff/students to Brownsville. No reason why we can't have a full fledged campus. Maybe one day Texas A&M will build a campus in Brownsville like they did in McAllen. I did my bachelors at UTB/TSC and had a great physics/engineering program with lots of incredible research. I did a summer internship at UTB for the Gravitational Wave Astronomy and couldn't believe the amount of research, staff and students it brought to Brownsville. Now a lot of that went to Edinburg. Such a shame. Would like to see Brownsville bring back a lot of that research cuz that's where the money is for universities. You're right. What's done is done. Where's the Law School going to go? lol I often wonder about that McAllen A&M campus - I don't know anyone who's sent their kids there. Not a soul. It hasn't grown or expanded since it was built. It's literally in the boonies - waaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy out north. Maybe only people that live in Tres Lagos send their kids there. lol Even The King has fought with A&M. It wouldn't surprise me to see them uproot and close up shop one day. Lol. Didn't know that about the McAllen A&M campus. Don't even know where it's located...

Even worth I can't even see how it could expand once that area fills in with residential homes. Who thought of this one?

Why doesn’t Hidalgo County call for the merging of their EDCs first?
Hidalgo county will never merge EDCs because it would pit the main cities against each other and force all but one city (McAllen or Edinburg) to compromise, they would pretend to be working together but in reality they’d all be fighting/competing for that project to land in their respective city (the way McAllen did everything they could to prevent ZOHO from setting up shop in Edinburg). Now, if Cameron County decides to cave in and join y’all, they would be outnumbered (again) just like UTRGV and the MPO and by default it would actually help facilitate the unification of Hidalgo county against their one common foe, and that’s Cameron County. Ain’t now way in hell McAllen, Edinburg, Pharr or Mission is going to let a large project land in Cameron County (and that’s just reality) and they would definitely “unite” and “work together” to make sure those projects land anywhere BUT Cameron County. Again, y’all have your assets, and we have ours. We can work together without pooling tax $s.

Just like merging the MPOs, you'll get stragglers jumping on board after it's done. This time, it will be entire counties jumping on board.

Why would the RGV(mid valley) want the EDCs merged.. they should hve no problem landing the "MILLION DOLLAR PROJECTS" hving the bigger cities... MCALLEN, EDINBURG, PHARR, MISSION, WESLACO... they are all over 100k pop.. who in their right mind want Harlingen EDC budget... since its 6th in pop.?? As ppl hve made this very clear ... Harlingen has NO GAME in this??? Or san Benito??... of course NOT ...they want the "BILLION...AGAIN BILLION DOLLAR PROJECTS " that BRO has been able to capture and capitalize on that... because of our strategic geographic advantage than any city in the valley. BRO is on the global markets now... thats what the RGV is after...🙄 hmmmmm?? Sneaky bas...s!!
