H-E-B Park
If you haven't driven by, do so. It's an amazing looking stadium! Completed H-E-B Park presents diverse opportunities for entertainment, expansion EDINBURG — At the northwest corner of H-E-B Park, a towering iron framework juts out from the existing stadium seating. On the south side, a 3,600-square-foot concrete pad is outfitted to have electricity and running water flow through out — the type of setup that would enable vendors or musical acts to use it as a stage. Between the two end points is a 9,700-seat stadium, designed primarily to house the USL’s RGV FC Toros, who played their first home exhibition game Wednesday and will open their regular season Sunday. But the facility’s potential for expansion and entertainment reaches far beyond soccer. “A lot of this is privately funded, so I’m not sure we could just house it for soccer,” RGV FC president Bert Garcia said of the project, which was funded by club owner Alonzo Cantu. “So for us, that part of doing multiple events is first and foremost in the forefront of our minds. How else can we bring in more entertainment to the Valley? That’s always been thought about and talked about, and now we’re trying to plan.” Garcia spoke of bringing “A-list” acts to the Valley. He has designs on hosting at least one concert this summer, ideally with one in July and one in August. He said the stadium ownership has been in conversations with nationally recognized names like Live Nation and Anschutz Entertainment Group, as well as local promoters. One of the biggest draws for a potential performer would be seating, Garcia said. The largest entertainment venue in the area, H-E-B Park offers 9,700 in fixed seating, plus potentially a couple thousand more on the field itself. We went to the game this weekend (RGV lost) but the stadium is amazingly well put together! It feels like you're not in the RGV when you're in the stands with thousands and thousands of people cheering and screaming. Way different atmosphere than a football game. It's hard to describe. Parking is severely lacking though. Will definitely go again!

The stadium is awesome. What worries me about the whole thing being successful is the administration running it. The vipers and heb park probably have separate people in charge. So this may or may not apply to the vipers as well. As for heb park I interviewed for the HR job and the lady doing the interview was a total i'm a pendejo. The person in charge of marketing apparently doesn't exist because he/she is doing a terrible job at it. This just pisses me off because I feel I can easily do a better job than all these people but all these managerial positions go to their friends. The i'm a pendejo lady was a former fling of bert garcia. Hmm I wonder how she got her job.

With Renaissance Hospital, the new HEB Park and the upcoming Arena.... what he says goes. If you don't have an 'in' with him or his Board, you're not joining their team.

Most likely lol! Also a bit crazy the events that are slowly moving there! That Got Faith christian fest moved there from State Farm Arena (and got possibly the biggest Christian rock band at the moment, Skillet to perform this year) (fyi I don't listen to much of that though) and are hosting Daft Punk tribute night next month! I think one of the local Edinburg city festivals moved there also and the smaller country concerts are slowly moving from Las Palmas to HEB Park! Impressive I'd say.
