I agree with Miles. The ad you posted literally says from new route - Monterrey to Harlingen/SPI - $49. When the flights are much more into Harlingen than out. That's what i've been saying! the fact that there's only two days on their schedule is kind of sad. Fares: June July August-December

That's what i've been saying! the fact that there's only two days on their schedule is kind of sad. Aeromar flies MTY-MFE only two days a week on 72-seat ATRs (propeller planes). Is that sad? VivaAerobus will fly MTY-HRL two days a week on 186-seat A320s (jets). To illustrate the difference:

If you say so.
Either way, 1 VivaAerobus jet into Harlingen can carry more than 2.5 times the passengers than 2 Aeromar propellers into McAllen combined.

Dang tlv202,
seems you're very ecstatic about the flight hoping you personally support the flight. I also saw you with the same excitement on airliners staring the topic and everything. Just remember that these 2 flights are diffent beasts . They're no competition or comparison. In laymen terms: Aeromar caters to business and shoppers from Monterrey and Viva caters to SPI traffic. Aircraft is irrelevant.Pretty simple. I wouldn't start a debate . Me personally I drive from McAllen to Monterrey clocking in at 2 hours with a couple of gas tanks. Win win for ME personally

They're not. The VivaAerobus website shows returns (HRL-MTY) for as low as: $70 in May View Attachment
$59 in June
$49 from July-December 2021 wrong those are flights from Harlingen TO monterrey.... prices are much higher coming back. View AttachmentAll that build up for two flights a week to somewhere we can already get to? Pfft.

Nice of whoever it was to delete my post. So I will say it again: Something only a few people are talking about, but has huge implications, is connections. Connections not only help in terms of connectivity, but also help fill the planes. Aeromar offers only 2 same-day connections to/from MFE (connections are only available via MEX as MFE is the only Aeromar destination from MTY): Acapulco Veracruz VivaAerobus will offer same-day connections to at least the following places to/from HRL via MTY (more are still coming online, so this list is incomplete): Acapulco Cancun Chihuahua Juarez Mexico City Culiacan Guadalajara Hermosillo Leon Los Cabos (San Jose del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas) Merida Oaxaca Puebla Puerto Vallarta Queretaro Tampico Tijuana Toluca Tuxtla Gutierrez Veracruz Villahermosa So VivaAerobus makes Mexico more accessible from the Valley, and the Valley more accessible from Mexico. All without having to first fly to Houston or Dallas and then backtrack to your destination.

Wasn't it you who was saying these flights are for Mexicans to come to SPI, not so much for us to go there when asked about pricing? Hmm.
