It's only for the month of March right ? Correct. Foot in the door.
This will be going up American Airlines, which will be running HRL-ORD in February and March of 2024. Previously, American ran HRL-ORD only in March. So American has basically doubled the season.

Yes, these flights benefit ALL of Cameron County especially the county's largest city and official County seat. More people are flying in/out of the Valley via the two regional airports in Cameron County.

More people are flying in/out of the Valley via the two regional airports in Cameron County. What do you mean by "especially"? HRL will benefit in terms of passenger count. The Island will benefit as most passengers will be heading to the Island. The flights are intended to bring Spring Breakers down to the Island and Winter Texans down to the Valley. "Official county seat" implies there's an unofficial county seat. 🤣 Regardless, saying "official" is unnecessary. Brownsville either is or isn't the county seat. It is.

Most definitely... Cameron county is more of a destination area.. two beaches, historic downtown Brownsville, zoo, SpaceX , national parks n more restaurants opening up n more shopping retailers coming soon.. i only hope the "official " airport of the cowboys n vaqueros will bring more passengers down our way. Whoopi!! UTRGV is a glorified community college. Not that there's anything wrong with community colleges. But UTRGV accepts 94% of applicants and only graduates about 34%. Those numbers are horrible.
And yeah, the whole "South Texas official airport of the Dallas Cowboys" and UTRGV ploy that MFE is running is silly. It wont lead to much. Most schools just charter a flight or fly Southwest.

Oh yea an R2 University is such a glorified community college. I like how you also use really outdated numbers.
