UTRGV is a glorified community college. Not that there's anything wrong with community colleges. But UTRGV accepts 94% of applicants and only graduates about 34%. Those numbers are horrible.
And yeah, the whole "South Texas official airport of the Dallas Cowboys" and UTRGV ploy that MFE is running is silly. It wont lead to much. Most schools just charter a flight or fly Southwest. Oh yea an R2 University is such a glorified community college. I like how you also use really outdated numbers. You're right. My apologies. Per UTRGV, the 4-year graduation rate is actually 29%, not 34%. Further, average SAT score of UTRGV students is low: 1030. Not the cream of the crop. This is per UTRGV. Also per UTRGV, students transferring to UTRGV from other schools must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Dim bulbs.

Hidalgo has no port ...Cameron has harlingen port n Brownsville port...we hve a diversified economic engines to support the whole valley!!! NOT JUST BROWNSVILLE...

Yes, these flights benefit ALL of Cameron County especially the county's largest city and official County seat. More people are flying in/out of the Valley via the two regional airports in Cameron County. My favorite part of this is that you inadvertently made an argument for consolidation at HRL. Might as well move all BRO flights to HRL since Brownsville will allegedly benefit anyway. You still haven't answered my question a few posts ago.

How many times do we have to go through this Bobby? First, thanks for admitting that Harlingen is a pass-through city, passing tourists off to South Padre Island, SpaceX, and Brownsville where they're going to spend real money on lodging, dining, entertainment, etc. (not on cheap discounted flights) that CAMERON COUNTY collects taxes on, and the decision on what those collected sales tax revenue will be spent on will be made in Brownsville, the county seat. Brownsville IS Cameron County, Cameron County IS Brownsville - the county courthouses, judicial, and administrative offices are in Brownsville, the county judge is from Brownsville, 3 out of the 4 county commissioners reside in Brownsville..... Brownsville IS Cameron County. Sales taxes the are collected from those tourists visiting SPI, SpaceX/Starbase/Browsnville will benefit Cameron County which by default benefit Brownsville whether you like it or not - why can't you understand that? Being the county seat of Cameron County, the city of Brownsville and it's economic development arms - GBIC and BCIC - (under the umbrella cover of Cameron County) can promote both HRL and BRO in their marketing when they're trying to attract new industry to the city of Brownsville......not Harlingen. Consolidation of the two airports will never happen. Brownsville is benefiting from not only its own regional airport, but the tourists HRL is funneling our way as well.......keep up the good work HRL/VIA!!!! All of these people flying out of BRO during the Thanksgiving holiday week should have been flying out of HRL/VIA......not anymore. Again, BRO is literally keeping VIA from being the unanimous #1 airport in the RGV. I'm not calling for the elimination of VIA, but Bobby clearly wants BRO to fail. Cameron County benefits off of two regional airports. The county seat (Browsnville) and its residents benefit having two regional airports within a 30-mile radius. Cameron County is based out of Brownsville, anything good happening anywhere in Cameron County is good for Brownsville....including Harlingen.

Yay !! Two airports for Cameron county is better than the one "official cowboys/vaqueros " airport of south pole Texas... which we all know BROWNSVILLE is the true SOUTHERN most of Texas..🤦♂️ Yrs ago... once upon a time San Antonio was south TX.... not NO more..
